Alefiya Akbarally is an award-winning Sri Lankan born photographer living in Houston, USA. In 2011 she won a prestigious Black and White Spider Award for a creation from her fashion portfolio, and in 2007 she was one of a small group of Asian photographers selected for the acclaimed Ankor Photographers' Workshop. In addition to her successful commercial and fashion photography, her piercing and eloquent documentation of social issues include work on a cancer hospital, teenage mothers, a missionary school and the biography of an acclaimed artist.
