A Simple Cake was created in 2009 by the talented Gail Watson. After 21 years in the custom cake industry with her company Gail Watson Custom Cakes, which she started in 1988, she realized there was a new need in the wedding cake field, a cake that would be between the high end custom cakes and the sheet cakes from your local bakery, thus creating A Simple Cake. Gail’s experience landed her in every bridal magazine, on many movie sets, in some of the most beautiful books and on some incredible TV shows, but none of that was more important as working with the individual couple and creating another perfect aspect of their most important day. We have always tried to pay very close attention to what our clients’ needs and wishes are. A Simple Cake was created out of just that. More and more often, as much as the gloriously decorated cakes with a garden of hand molded sugar flowers on them were desired, budget and style concepts lead so many brides to say they wanted a delicious cake and a “simple cake”, not plain, not without style or quality, but simple elegance
